Amanda was flexible when everything changed for our wedding due to COVID. She drove 3 hours to rural Iowa, which was not the initial plan! And despite the bitter cold and crazy wind, she got AMAZING shots of our day! Having good photos of our day was very important to me, so all this means a lot! <3 <3

What is all day coverage?
All day coverage is typically an 8-10 hour time frame that starts from the final getting ready moments (before getting into the dress) all the way through first look, individual portraits, wedding party portraits, family portraits, ceremony, bride and groom portraits, reception entrance, cake cutting, dinner, toasts, first dance, parent dances, to roughly one hour post-dinner.
Do you bring an assistant/second photog?
Sometimes, but not always. I oftten have an assistant to help with things throughout the day, but I am comfortable and capable of shooting a wedding solo. Though a full time second shooter is an add-on that many client love!
How long have you been shooting weddings?
I've been shooting weddings for almost 20 years! I shot weddings before I shot any other type of portraits. So you can rest assured I know exactly how to ensure your special day is fun and stress free!

Sometimes the best sessions start with a surprise 🤍
Hayden reached out to plan something special for Sarah… and she had no idea she was even walking into a photo session that day.
What started as a complete surprise turned into updated headshots, the sweetest couple moments, and the most joy-filled way to celebrate her birthday.
I know I say it all the time, but I really do love love… and this session was such a perfect reminder of why.
You can feel how much they adore each other in every frame, and I’m honestly still not over it.

The baby days are behind us, and suddenly they’re clapping, standing, laughing, and showing off all that personality. It’s the sweetest shift… and always a little bittersweet too.

Six months + already stealing the show 💕
Sofia came in with big smiles and left us with so many cute little expressions — her personality is already shining through in the best way. (Especially love how it looks like she’s giving us all the bird in the first pic 😆).
This sweet family has trusted me with their story from the very beginning, and moments like this are why I love what I do so much.
From cozy studio snuggles to golden hour by the water… this session had everything 🤍
Getting to celebrate this season for these two—and the beautiful family they’ve built—was such a joy.
I already know their wedding this fall is going to be something really special 💕
There’s something really special about getting to photograph the same family over the years 🥹
From maternity and newborn photos with their first baby, Austin… to now welcoming baby girl Julia.
And somehow this ended up being my last newborn session in the studio too.
She was absolute perfection and slept like a dream.
I adore this family more than I can put into words 🤍
Even as a photographer… taking your own photos is HARD.
Tripod. Timer. Hide the remote. Adjust. Repeat. Question life choices. 😅

After nearly nine years in my studio at the Cherry Building, this chapter will be coming to a close at the end of March.
Studio spaces have been part of my photography journey for quite a while now. I photographed my first wedding in 2004 and started with a small studio setup in the basement of my home. In 2009 I moved into my first studio space in the Guaranty Bank Building, about 400 square feet. A few years later I upgraded to a slightly larger space in the same building. Then in 2017 I moved into what truly felt like my dream studio here in Suite 127 at the Cherry Building.
This space has held so many memories.
Newborns becoming toddlers.
Seniors becoming adults.
Families growing year after year.
Women stepping in front of my camera and seeing themselves in a whole new way.
While this chapter is ending a little sooner than I expected, Amanda Dee Photography is absolutely not going anywhere.
I will continue photographing weddings, families, seniors, headshots, and boudoir, just in new spaces and new ways. After more than 20 years behind the camera, I have learned that sometimes the unexpected changes end up opening the door to the next beautiful season.
To everyone who has stepped through these studio doors over the years, thank you for trusting me with your moments and memories. This space meant a lot to me, and it always will.
