It always feels good to have repeat clients, especially when they have a growing family. I’ve been honored to capture several of this family’s happy memories including this exciting time while they wait for their second little girl to be born. We shot in some gorgeous flower fields as well as at the beach creating a whole bunch of favorites, of which I just had to make a blog post. And I can’t wait to photograph their new little one later this month!!

I still can’t believe this beautiful soul is mine.
My daughter is just a couple months away from officially becoming a teenager, but in so many ways, she already carries the heart, humor, and wisdom of someone far beyond her years.
She’s sweet and silly, kind and clever, stylish and strong.
One of my absolute favorite humans—and truly one of my best friends.
She stepped in front of the camera for fun this day and ended up modeling like a total natural, coming up with poses and ideas all on her own. I was in awe—both as a photographer and as a mama.
Watching her grow into this thoughtful, confident, creative young woman is the greatest joy of my life.

I’m based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a beautiful studio in the New Bohemia District (seriously, it’s a dream space!), but you’ll often find me traveling all around Eastern Iowa for weddings, portraits, and all the moments in between.
I’ve been a photographer for 20 years (I know… how?!), ever since I shot my first wedding at 22 and fell in love with storytelling through images. Watching families grow and capturing their most special moments is such a joy, and this session truly filled my heart! I photographed big brother as a newborn and one year old, and now I’ve had the honor of photographing him again – this time as a playful, silly, and oh-so-sweet big brother to his brand-new baby brother. 💙
For this session, I leaned into what I’ve been focusing more on as a photographer lately – creating newborn images that feel a little more relaxed, natural, and true to life. The snuggles, the giggles, the tiny moments that make these early days so meaningful. So there’s a good handful of those mixed in with the more posed shots.
