Phew! I feel like 2014 was a marathon and I’m still trying to catch my breath! And indeed, I am still working on editing some of the last weddings and sessions of 2014 but I wanted to take a moment to share a little “Year In Review” for my photography business. It was most definitely my busiest year yet! And for that I am so grateful! I am so thankful for my clients, both old and new. It’s such an honor being there to capture so many families happy memories. And, in reviewing my records I was so excited to see that I served a whopping 100 clients this year! And many of those clients had more than one session with me! A little break down in the types of sessions I did this year are below.
By far, my busiest wedding year yet, with 17 beautiful weddings photographed. And nearly that many booked for 2015 already! I had the absolute privilege of photographing 20 newborns in 2014, one of my favorite sessions to do! A somewhat new genre for me this year was photographing births. I had the great honor of being there to photograph three new lives coming earthside, documenting their first breaths and more. While I have yet to create an official guide detailing my birth photography packages, it is something that I am hoping to continue to photograph in very limited amounts in 2015. A genre that saw a very large increase in popularity in 2014 was Boudoir Photography. You don’t see a lot of these sessions posted on my website or Facebook page (for obvious reasons) but they are most definitely becoming more common. And I’m so glad because they are SO FUN! Eight boudoir sessions in 2014 and already several scheduled for 2015. Many clients ask me what my favorite type of session to photograph is and it’s such a hard question to answer because I love them all for different reasons. (Which is why I haven’t specialized… I just can’t choose!) However, engagement sessions became a big favorite of mine this past year and I was so excited to photograph 9 sweet couples in their “bubbles of love” (as I like to call it). And filling in the rest of the year were 96 (yes, you read that right) other sessions, of which are mainly families and children in all ages and stages. I also photographed for a couple special projects: The Shero Experience and The PBAP.
2015 is definitely going to be a whole lot of fun! Expect to see a few changes, but all for the better. I can’t wait to enjoy another year of doing what I love and of giving families the gift of lasting memories!
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to all of my clients, past and present, and even FUTURE! To 2015!!
